Matt Simons, Chief People Officer

Matt Simons is ThoughtWorks' Chief People Officer. In his role, Matt is responsible for coordinating the recruiting, people development, human resources, and project staffing teams in each ThoughtWorks country, ensuring that strategic change initiatives are implemented in a sustainable fashion, and representing the views, needs and concerns of ThoughtWorkers at the global leadership level.

From 2004 to mid-2006, Matt was Managing Director of ThoughtWorks India, where he led an office of more than 150 developers, analysts, testers and managers in Bangalore. During his tenure, Matt built a leadership team and a framework that oversaw a period of unprecedented growth, innovation, and delivery excellence. Prior to that role, he led successful delivery efforts on a number of large, complex, and mission-critical projects including the replacement of a legacy point-of-sales system for a global electronics retailer.

Matt has been a part of ThoughtWorks for seven years, has extensive experience in business development for ThoughtWorks, and was an original member of the ThoughtWorks UK Regional Operating Committee. Prior to joining ThoughtWorks, Matt worked for a niche IT consultancy in Chicago. He also spent 18 months living in Chiang Mai, Thailand where he was a lecturer in English and Business Administration at Chiang Mai University.
